Painted in July 2019
Every time I visited the church, I saw pictures of Jesus with a serious face, often holding up one of the fingers, as if teaching or warning. But I never saw Him smiling, the one I always heard was full of love.
So, I painted Him the way I see Him: Jesus smiling at me with kindness, loving me unconditionally, His love filling my heart with peace and comfort. I see Jesus like the hero of Genesis, Joseph, who was rejected by his brothers yet showed kindness and mercy. A Son of Grace, Jesus who promised never to leave us, unforgettable promise in the book of Genesis.
Art has no fixed rules… You might see my painting in a different way.

رُسمت هذه اللوحة في يوليو 2019 -
في كل مرة كنت أزور كنيستي، كنت أرى صوراً ليسوع بملامح جادة، يرفع إصبعاً أو ثلاثة، كما لو كان يُعلّم أو يُنذر. لكني لم أره يوماً يبتسم. لم أشعر أنه يشبه الصديق الذي أعرفه.
لذا، رسمته كما أراه؛ يسوع المبتسم لي أنا بحنان، يحبني لي غير مشروط، وضحكته تملأ روحي طمأنينة وسلاماً. رسمته بألوان قوس قزح السبعة، رمزاً لوعده الذي لا يُنسى كما في سفر التكوين؛ يسوع الذي وعد أن لا يتركنا أبداً.
الفن ليس له قواعد ثابتة... يمكنك أن ترى لوحتي بطريقة مختلفة.
لكن هذه هي قصتي – ماذا ترى أنت؟ هل ترسلها لنا؟
خذ دقيقة. انظر إلى اللوحة. اسأل الله أن يريك قصتك، أن يكشف لك ما تعنيه هذه الألوان والابتسامة. ربما ترى وعداً جديداً... وربما ترى صديقاً كان بانتظارك منذ زمن.
